We recently bought a condo and are renting out the clubhouse for the baby shower. At the time we viewed it, the floors were being redone so we really couldn't get a good look at everything, but we thought it would be okay and booked it.
Yesterday, my mom came over and we toured the clubhouse again since the shower is in 2 weeks. It is a disaster. The kitchen I thought I saw is just a little bar. I'm having a Baby-Q. There are hardly any outlets. Furniture that was moved out of the way when viewing are in the way now. We are expecting maybe 25-35 people and I'm not sure how we are going to fit everything and everyone inside.
There was a dead co*ckroach on the ground. Leftover laminate left out. A stair missing flooring. It's going to be CRAMPED and ugly. I'm so sad. I honestly just wish I wasn't even having a shower at this point.
Between this and moving, I feel like I'm not even excited anymore to have my son. I'm so unbelievably stressed getting everything done before his arrival. The venue disaster is the icing on the cake.

aww I am so sorry. Would you be able to do it in someone’s backyard ? Or do it outdoors at a park ? There could be other clubhouses to look out as well ? :( sorry

@Honeybunnyy,
I'm in Florida unfortunately so AC indoors is a must. It's been 92+ degrees daily lately.

That can be overwhelming especially while pregnant. My baby shower was not what I expected for my first as it was during Covid and my parents were super concerned so they set up like Publix lunchboxes instead of catering, it was a little embarrassing tbh. I’m a typical Pinterest mom and love event planning but being pregnant I didn’t want to plan so was definitely disappointed. But in the end I tried to just let go, in the moment I had a hard time but looking back it’s such a small part of a big picture. Try to let yourself just enjoy being around your friends and family and know it’ll be what it’ll be. I didn’t feel prepared till maybe two weeks before my labor but it will eventually all come together. I’m a control freak so letting go isn’t easy but it’s definitely a lesson parenthood will teach you.

Look into hotels! Sometimes you can rent out the conference rooms for events.
