Koppert, Nicolaas Hendricus (Nick), 82 years, Monday, September 17, 2001, peacefully at Malden Park Continuing Care Centre, with his family at his side. Late of Leamington. Beloved husband of the late Maria (van den Berg) (1979). Devoted father of Dr. George Koppert and wife Donna, Windsor; Margaret Koppert, Toronto; Nick Koppert, Leamington; Dr. Roger Koppert and wife Deborah, Calgary; Dr. Theresa Koppert and husband Dr. David Tees, Saint John, NB; Paula Koppert and husband John Korac, Windsor. Loving grandfather of Allison, Danielle, Michelle, Erika, Nigel, Nicole, Lisa, Alex, Madeline, Nina and Natalie. Also survived by brother Jan, sister Connie, and many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands. Nick came to Leamington in 1948 to start a better life for his family. He worked for the H.J. Heinz Co. for many years and was a member of the Leamington Knights of Columbus Council #4501. Nick's legacy lives on through the strong sense of devotion to family that he instilled in his children. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home 14 Russell Street, Leamington on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at 10,30 a.m. then to St. Joseph's Church for Mass to celebrate Nick's life at 11 a.m. Fr. Loving grandfather of Kellie and Rick Butera and son Dante, Kristopher and Maria Moauro, Jason and Abby Marcovecchio, Phyllicia and Kyle Marcovecchio. Also survived by a brother Tony in Italy and 2 sisters in Argentina, Modestina and Filomena. Faithful companion to his dog Marco. Alex was a member of the Leamington Roma Club.
