SMART, Malcolm Isidore - On September 11, 2020, Malcolm passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends, at Toronto General Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A retired teacher of Toronto District School Board, Malcolm was kind, quiet, gentle and loving, with a sharp wit and a great passion for history and education.

After humble beginnings in Trinidad & Tobago, his proudest achievements were the ability to provide for his family, and to assist the many young people with whom he met.

McGACHIE, Eleanor Fay (nee SPRAGUE) - November 26, 1931 – September 11, 2020

A beautiful and long life. Born in Belleville, Mom passed away in Calgary, at the age of 88.

Eleanor was deeply treasured by her three daughters: Susan (Stewart) Linton, Wendy (Steve) Shaw-Mason and Joanne (Victor) McGachie.

Though her beloved Sue predeceased her in 2012, they are now together again.

"Nana" was at her happiest with her grandchildren Kate, Michael (Erin), Adam (Emily) and Kelly (Dana) as well as with her 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

ALEXANDER, Laurance Walker - December 8, 1922 - September 11, 2020

Peacefully in his sleep at Seasons Dufferin Residence, Trenton, ON.

Larry was born and raised in Toronto, attending school at Bowmore Road Public School, Riverdale Collegiate, and University of Toronto school of Engineering.

He joined the Air Force during WWll and was part of the BCATP program.

He met his wife, the late Madge Isabel Mieyette (Midge) while they were posted at Dauphin, Manitoba.

ROBINSON, Peter Anthony - September 23, 1936 - September 11, 2020

Passed away peacefully after a brave battle with ALS at Credit Valley Hospital surrounded by love on Friday, September 11, 2020 in his 84th year.

Peter was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario and was a band member of the Niagara Memorial Militaries from 1954 - 1959 and moved to Toronto in 1962. Beloved husband of Ollie (Olga) for over 61 years.

Peter will always be remembered with much love by his sons James (Lisa), Kevin and daughter Suzanne (John).

Peter will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Anthony and Jason Silvaroli, Alexis and Austin Scaini-Robinson and Erin Robinson.

VANLEEUWEN, Dr. James J. MD, FRCP[C] - 1934-2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of James on Friday, September 11, 2020.

He died at home of pancreatic cancer, in the tender care of Irene, his wife of 58 years, and his daughters Annette and Jennifer. He was blessed through his illness by daily phone calls with his older brother Dan.

He was predeceased by daughter Jacqueline and his siblings Gerald, Alice, Joanne.

He will be sorely missed in Canada and the Netherlands by his many dear siblings-in-law, his three sons-in-law (Ivan Zinger, Adam Zelkha, John Lingertat) his four grandchildren (Genevieve Zinger, Paul, Oliver, and Sebastian Lingertat), and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Stockholm Sweden, she was the daugther of the late Ruth and Oscar Cedwall.

Beloved widowed wife of Royce Snider and wife of first husband Curt Cober. A beautiful mother to Anita and Lennart Cober (Miranda). A wonderful sister to Lars (Mona), Bo and Jean Cedwall.
