Maybe you remember my last post from my ‘Silent Horror’ comic series on DarkBox, well here are some more scary drawings for you to enjoy! I am a Malaysian artist that uses a signature storytelling style without any dialogue, and that leaves these horror stories up to the viewer’s interpretation.

From eerie ghosts to ghoulish creatures, I don’t recommend looking at these short horror stories in the dark. These dark drawings are definitely not for the faint of heart.

Scroll down below to check out my terrifyingly scary stories and if you have a disturbing imagination beware! For more stories check out my tapas page here!

1. This one is just really messed up with that intruder.2. This one is actually very sad. I actually cried when I saw it. She loved them enough to return.3. This one is just messed up and actually reflects a lot of cases of parents mistreatments in Vietnam.4. This makes me feel bad for the clowns today. Even though they did nothing wrong and tried everything to make everyone happy, people still treat them as a threat to society. Also, that kid's a brat.5. This one is very funny. I can imagine the demon says: "B***h, can't a demon put on make up without interruptions?"

FAQs

What are some creepy things to put in a story? ›

Common themes include ghosts, ghouls, monsters, vampires, werewolves, demons, zombies, murderers, serial killers, paranormal forces, witchcraft, apocalypses, psychological fear, and gore.

How to write a horror story with a twist? ›

Create Internal Logic: Twists need to be logical within the rules and context of your story world. Strive for Emotional Resonance: We need to care about the characters of your story deeply and how the twist affects them for it to be powerful. The more the reader cares, the more powerful their reaction will be.

Is horror easy to write? ›

Horror is a particularly contrived area of fiction, but it must not seem like that to the reader. You must make the unbelievable believable. And that takes time and a lot of effort.

What is considered creepy to a girl? ›

Men are much more likely to be considered creepy when they make uninvited sexual advances on women than vice versa. In fact, women tend to think that "creepy" men pose some kind of sexual threat, and may be afraid of them. Compliments are okay, but try not to go overboard.

How to end a horror story? ›

Horror novels are more flexible than mysteries. They might have a happy or unhappy ending; they might answer all the remaining questions, or they might leave some open to keep the reader mulling things over after the book is closed. Horror stories are particularly well-suited to ambiguous or unresolved endings.

What is considered body horror? ›

Body horror, biological horror, organic horror or visceral horror is horror fiction in which the horror is principally derived from the unnatural graphic transformation, degeneration or destruction of the physical body. Such works may deal with decay, disease, deformity, parasitism, mutation or mutilation.

What is a twisted story? ›

A plot twist is a sudden and unexpected change in the direction or outcome of a story that surprises and challenges the reader. Plot twists can add suspense, intrigue, and emotional impact to your writing, but they can also backfire if they are not well-crafted and foreshadowed.

How do you make a fear in a horror story? ›

To evoke fear, your characters must resonate with your readers on a deeper level. Unearth the psychology of fear in your characters, exploring their vulnerabilities and fears. Creating relatable protagonists your readers can root for will intensify the terror when they face the unknown.

How do you write a scary horror scene? ›

In conclusion, building suspense and tension is a critical part of writing effective horror scenes. By using techniques such as foreshadowing, misdirection, and controlling pacing and atmosphere, writers can create a sense of unease and uncertainty that will keep readers engaged and on the edge of their seats.

How to make a psychological horror story? ›

Add elements to your story that create a sense of foreboding, where the reader feels something bad or twisted is waiting just around the corner. You can create a terrifying atmosphere by including details that feel slightly off or unsettling to the reader. Twist what seems normal into something disturbing and surreal.
